What is Best Complete Spanish Learning System?

I received the following email inquiring about the best Spanish courses:

“I’m looking for the best complete spanish learning system. I hope you can help me. I’m planning on moving to Mexico in a few years & want to be fluent. I’m looking for one that is well balanced w/ grammer, vocab. & the whole 9 yards. Rocket Spanish is pretty good but I feel I need a more extensive course. I really don’t want to give $650 for Rosetta Stone unless it is that much better than the others. I’v been looking @ some others,”Fluenz”, “Tell me more spanish” @ I’m sure there are others. Can you give me your opinion on these @ any others you could recommend. I have been through the “The Everything Learning Spanish Book” several times so I do have a start on my Spanish.”

Here is my reply:

“I get the best feedback on Rocket Spanish which costs $99. But if money is no object, you might want Rosetta or Fluenz. Personally, I would get Rocket then spend the extra money on the Practice Makes Perfect books, and a tutor.”

Hi. I am happy to hear that you are looking into learning a language and not just going with Rosetta but doing some research. I am sure by my email you can tell I work for TELL ME MORE. However I am going to give a real unbiased opinion of the 4 main language software companies you are talking about.

Rosetta- everyone knows Rosetta. you can not walk down the street, turn on your tv, or even your radio with our hearing the name Rosetta. Does this mean Rosetta has the most comprehensive product. It is up to each user. Rosetta offers speech recognition which is good. there software is complete immersion it is a flash card based learning method on a computer. you see a dog you match with dog. there is no translation with Rosetta so you will need to have a dictionary until you get the hang of the words. It is an excellent tool for beginners. but once you get into more advanced skills alot of people call me. however there chat community is a awesome feature.

Rocket Spanish- anything that says learn a language in 6 days.. come on… I do not know a whole lot about this program however in my opinion: audio tools are always a great help in language training. but you can not completely learn a language utilizing only audio tools.

Fluenz- I love the speaker for Fluenz. I like the approach where she walks you threw the exercises. I feel as if they are passionate about language training just like TELL ME MORE. Fluenz does not offer speech recognition so in order to have proper pronunciation you need to have the pronunciation and phonetic training.

TELL ME MORE- Okay we do offer alot of the main areas of training in a language. However we at this time do not have a community chat which is a really cool feature. There are 41 different types of activities to keep you motivated. Calendars to set up your learning path

My personal opinion you will find yourself using more than one product to learn a language no matter what. I would recommend checking which ever of the 3 language courses you choose to check out http://www.busuu.com great conversational builder. Free site that allows you to interact with people all over the world.

Fluenz, TELL ME MORE and Rosetta are all good tools in language training. It is going to depend on what fluency level you want to attain as to which process is the best. Since we all have moneyback guarantees. my suggestion is to pick two buy the smallest package they offer and compare them. Then choose. Check out there customer service, there training methods. If you have any questions about TELL ME MORE please call the office I will be more than happy to help.
